Those petty sounds that are mood-breakers

  • The slurp of taking a 'sip' of coffee/tea and the "aahhh" after the sip
  • The 'glug', glug', glug' of drinking water from the bottle
  • The smacking, chewing and biting on those evening snacks, with mouth wide open
  • The sound of people non-rhythmically tapping their work stations, arousing the thinking cells!
  • ...
Common as they may seem, but some can be highly irritating for some people.

But the positive side of all this? It teaches patience and temper control!

... and I'm learning, BIG TIME!

The power of words...

This is one poem that has always pepped up my low moods. Words, written in the right manner can be really POWERFUL!

..and to the author of this poem, Thanks a ton for this.

Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Days that do not begin well...

Ever experienced one of these days?

  • When you haven't slept well the previous night, yet you have to attend to all that the day calls for?
  • When you feel numb and you realize that those thinking stems are just not doing what they are supposed to do?
  • When, there's so much to do, but you do not know where to begin!
  • When the rest of the world seems to be doing everything else important and you are sitting there almost close to blankness!
Today's mine!

But, then I feel this way too - I realized it at least and so I can take those efforts to do something about it, can't I?

I'm trying..I'm trying... Let me get the thinking wheels turning so that they do some normal work.

Any of you felt this way? How do you handle these off-days?
